Miss Bala, a young woman who witnesses a murder, tells the story of Gloria Meyer, a young woman trying to recover from her family's death. In the midst of mourning, Gloria takes a trip with a friend from Los Angeles to Tijuana in order to clear her mind. However, this supposedly relaxing vacation takes a dark turn when they witness a murder. The young crime boss, who wants to keep them quiet, kidnaps Gloria's friend and forces Gloria to work for him. But the crime boss is not the only one who has caught Gloria's attention. The Drug Enforcement Administration also notices her. Gloria finds herself caught in the middle of a cat-and-mouse game between the CIA, DEA, and the dangerous crime boss Lino. As she is pulled into the dangerous world of cross-border crime, Gloria discovers a power she never knew she had. Now, in order to survive, she must use all her cunning, creativity, and strength.
